Established in 2017, The Sheep Sanctuary transformed a former strawberry farm into an agrotourism destination. Initially focusing on sheep, alpacas were later introduced to diversify the experience. This initiative aligns with Cameron Highlands’ broader efforts to promote sustainable tourism alongside its agricultural heritage.

The sanctuary’s main draw is hands-on interaction with sheep and alpacas, complemented by feeding sessions. The alpaca enclosure, with its playful and photogenic residents, is a crowd favourite. Visitors can unwind at the café with views of grazing animals or browse locally crafted wool souvenirs. The tranquil setting, away from crowded tourist spots, enhances its appeal.

The Sheep Sanctuary provides a unique, educational experience distinct from the region’s tea plantations and strawberry farms. It appeals to animal lovers, families, and photographers seeking a serene, interactive outing. The combination of animal encounters, scenic beauty, and relaxed ambience makes it a refreshing stop in Cameron Highlands. Whether feeding alpacas or enjoying a quiet coffee amidst rolling hills, the sanctuary offers a memorable slice of rural charm.
