Sam Poh Temple, one of the largest Buddhist temples in Cameron Highlands, is situated in Brinchang, approximately 5 km north of Tanah Rata. From Century Pines Resort in Tanah Rata, head northeast via Jalan Besar (Route 59) towards Brinchang. The journey takes roughly 10–15 minutes by car. Upon reaching Brinchang, follow signs to the Boh Tea Plantation; the temple is located along Jalan Sungai Palas, near the plantation entrance. Limited parking is available on-site.
Established in 1972, Sam Poh Temple is a striking four-tiered complex blending Thai and Chinese architectural styles. Dedicated to the Thai Buddhist monk Phra Choom, it also honours Chinese deities, including Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy). The temple’s vibrant red, gold, and green façade contrasts with the lush highland scenery. Its tranquil gardens feature bonsai trees, ornamental ponds, and floral displays, while the upper tiers offer panoramic views of tea plantations and misty valleys.
Entry to Sam Poh Temple is free, though donations are appreciated for maintenance. Parking costs RM 2–3 per vehicle. The temple operates daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours during festivals.
