Honey Bee Farm

Honey bee farms are a popular attraction in Cameron Highlands, offering a delightful and educational experience for visitors of all ages. These farms allow you to learn about the fascinating world of honeybees, witness honey production firsthand, and indulge in delicious honey products.

The primary bee farms in Cameron Highlands, including Ee Feng Gu Honey Bee Farm and High Country Honey Bee Farm, are located near Brinchang and Kea Farm, approximately 6–8 km north of Century Pines Resort in Tanah Rata. From the resort, drive northeast towards Jalan Besar (Main Road), heading north on Jalan Sungai Palas (Route 59). Pass Brinchang town and continue for 10–15 minutes until you spot signboards for bee farms. The journey takes 15–20 minutes by car or taxi.

Cameron Highlands’ bee farms, nestled amid tea plantations and strawberry fields, offer an educational insight into apiculture. Visitors observe honey extraction processes, learn about bee ecosystems, and sample fresh honey. Many farms feature glass-enclosed hives for safe viewing, lush gardens, and shops selling honey-based products like royal jelly, propolis, and beeswax candles.

Most bee farms, including Ee Feng Gu and High Country, do not charge entry fees. However, guided tours or specialised tastings may incur nominal charges (RM5–RM10 per person). Purchases of honey or souvenirs are optional.

Farms typically operate daily from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, including weekends and public holidays. Hours may vary slightly during monsoon seasons (November–February).

Beekeeping in Cameron Highlands dates to the 1980s, introduced to diversify agriculture beyond tea and vegetables. Ee Feng Gu, established in 1983, pioneered commercial honey production here, capitalising on the cool climate and floral diversity. Over time, these farms became key agro-tourism attractions.
