Agro Technology Park MARDI is a distinctive agro-tourism destination nestled in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. Managed by the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), the park spans over 42 hectares and showcases a unique blend of scientific research and natural beauty. Visitors can explore a variety of themed gardens, greenhouses, crop houses, and even a small tea plantation that highlight the cultivation of temperate fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants.
For those staying at Century Pines Resort Cameron Highlands, reaching the park is remarkably convenient. It’s located only about 0.6 kilometers away, roughly a 10-minute walk. From the resort, head towards the town center of Tanah Rata and follow the directional signboards leading to Agro Technology Park. Ample parking is available if you choose to drive or opt for a taxi or ride-sharing service.
The park offers an immersive experience where visitors witness sustainable agricultural practices firsthand. Historically, the site has deep roots in agricultural development. Established originally in 1925 by the British as the Federal Experimental Station with tea first introduced in the highlands then the area has grown into a vibrant center for agro-research. The park was officially integrated into the MARDI complex and inaugurated by the Sultan of Pahang on June 14, 2003. Today, it welcomes over 65,000 visitors each year, reflecting its ongoing role in advancing sustainable agriculture.
